The ECNU Kidney Health Institute (KHI) was established in August 2023, as an effort to build a top tier research and clinical nephrology institute. The mission of the Institute is to deliver renal health care with innovative and top-notch medical technology and advance care through integrated multidisciplinary research and clinical practice. The Institute is dedicated to increase public awareness and enhance community service for the prevention, early diagnosis and personalized treatment in relation to kidney-related pathological conditions. Adhering to the concepts of openness, cooperation and sharing, the Institute has gathered a number of internationally renowned experts and scholars, and has assembled a highly-qualified team in basic research on kidney diseases, clinical treatment, drug R&D, and social services. In addition, in response to the national strategy of the Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta Region, the Institute collaborates with ECNU Wuhu Hospital, Nantong University Affiliated Hospital, Northern Jiangsu People's Hospital, Jiading Branch of Shanghai First People's Hospital and ECNU Affiliated Changning Maternity and Child Health Hospital to establish the Yangtze River Delta Consortium of ECNU Kidney Health Institute, aiming at promoting the development of chronic kidney disease prevention and treatment in the Yangtze River Delta region.
