Dr. Lihong Chen received her medical degree from Shanxi Medical University and obtained her PhD in Peking University. She has been a postdoctoral researcher and a Research Associate in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania in USA from 2009 to 2016. Currently, she is a Professor in the Advanced Institute for Medical Sciences, Dalian Medical University. She is also a principal investigator in the Health Science Center at East China Normal University. She has published more than 50 scientific papers on peer-reviewed international journals such as Circulation, Science Translational Medicine, PNAS, Journal of Pineal Research, JHEP reports, and so on. Her research was supported by the Scientist Development Grant of the American Heart Association, the National 1000 Youth Talent Project of China and the National Natural Science Foundation. She has won the Outstanding Research Award of the American Heart Association and the Young Scholar Award of the International Arachidonic Acid Conference. She is now a member of the editorial board of Frontiers in Pharmacology and Scientific Reports, and serves as a reviewer of many other SCI journals including Hypertensin and Acta Pharmacologica Sinica.
Dr. Chen’s research is mainly focused on the investigation of the relationship between circadian rhythm and diseases in Cardiovascular, Metabolic, and Renal systems. She also has extensive experience in the cardiovascular biology of cyclooxygenase products and the translational pharmacology of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
